James Ewen

James Ewen is a wildlife cinematographer predominantly working on blue chip natural history films, but with credits in ‘human’ documentary. His experience includes blue chip landmark filming as well as sync filming in some of the most hostile environments on the planet. Based in Norway his experience extends to the high arctic and mountain filming. His technical specialities are long lens work, particularly with challenging animal behaviour, work with periscopes and probes, night filming, and moving cameras whether that be with drones, gimbals or jibs and dollies. Plimsoll Productions for National Geographic/Disney+- TX 2023. I was a DoP on the arctic episode following the story of Brunniches guillemot chicks leap of faith to the ocean.

Wild Scandinavia

BBC Studios Worldwide/PBS-— TX 2023. I was a DoP for the Fire and Ice episode of this mini landmark filming the musk oxen rut. I shot another sequence with musk oxen for Seven Worlds, One Planets Europe episode.

Polar Bear

Silverback for Disney Nature- TX 2022- Winner of Best Cinematography Award Wildscreen 2022. I was a DoP on this Disney Feature following a polar bear mothers struggle to bring up her cubs.
